Japan Trip (Tokyo) - Day 1 (1/2/2008) Airport/Hotel Edoya/ Ameyoko

Welcome to the Japan section of my photo blog.

We visited Tokyo and Hokkaido during Winter and spend 12 days in total minus 2 days of travelling time. It was an enriching trip as it showed us alot more than we expected; a land of rich culture, great food, endless shopping and SNOW!!

Singapore Changi Airport: Me and my Japanese Yen!

Narita Airport

ooo... Chilly~~!!

My 1st of many many many many Japanese Vending Machine. =)

Jas and tickets to our first Japanese Metro ride!

In the trains: I realise that there are advertisements in every corner....

This is Hotel Edoya, everything you want in a Japanese hotel! Free Internet, Onsen, Breakfast included. Simply value for $$$!!

Lunch at McDonald's....

interestingly, the menu is very different from what i see in other countries... Ebi Burger, Teriyaki Burger, etc....

... and a 1st experience of the fantastic culture of japan! Everyone actually seperate the paper and the plastics..

Shopping in Ameyoko

Ameyoko by night...

... and Starbucks to end the day.

So cool :D We're going to Japan in March.. and we're planning on going to a lot of the same places! Except when we go to Tsukiji I totally want to visit Studio Ghibli *-*

How early did you get to Tsukiji? 90 min. line is crazy.

Thanks for posting pics, they are awesome :D

you can see the below link, we reached the subway station close to 6am. You should try to reach there earlier if you want to see the fishmongers auction for the fishes. You can see the HUGE fishes if you get there early.
